This Week in 80’s History!Posted on August 20, 2022 It’s time to take a look back at this week in 80’s history! It was this week in: 1980 – Angry fans at Exhibition Stadium in Toronto staged a riot after our very own Alice Cooper unfortunately had to cancel a show due to illness. Looking like a scene straight out of the Woodstock ‘99 documentary. 1986 – Bon Jovi released Slippery When Wet. Featuring mega hit’s “You Give Love a Bad Name” and “Livin on a Prayer” the album would be certified platinum 12 times! 1987 – We had the time of our lives as Dirty Dancing premiered in theaters, starring Patrcik Swayze and Jennifer Grey. The film would go onto groce $214.6 million! 1989 – Saved by the Bell premiered on NBC. Although many of the characters may have seemed familiar to you, seeing as how you’d already been introduced to many of them as the show in it’s original form, Good Morning Miss Bliss had debuted a year earlier.
