Adventureland Resort’s 50th birthday celebration continues this June with two exciting events. Bernie’s Birthday Bash features something new every day through June, and some of central Iowa’s most beloved mascots are coming together to throw him a special surprise party on Friday, June 14.

Then, on Sunday, June 16 Adventureland and the reimagined Underground will be taking part in the record-setting World’s Largest Coaster Ride through the American Coaster Enthusiasts. More information on both events can be found below:

Bernie’s 50th Surprise Birthday Bash

Date: June 14, 2024

Time: 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Location: Bernie’s Dog House, Adventureland

Bernie is turning 50, and Adventureland is throwing him the surprise party of a lifetime! At noon, Bernie will be greeted by a parade of local sports mascots. But the surprises don’t stop there! Two former Adventureland mascots, Heather and Toby will make a special return appearance to honor Bernie’s milestone birthday. Guests will enjoy meet-and-greets at Bernie’s new dog house near Storm Chaser. Other specials throughout the month include Bernie’s Golden Dog Bone Scavenger Hunt, a FREE special edition popcorn bucket for the first 1,000 Guests on June 28, and a FREE Bernie bobblehead for the first 1,000 guests on June 29.

World’s Largest Coaster Ride

Date: June 16, 2024

Time: 1 p.m.

Location: Underground, Adventureland

Adventureland will once again participate in the World’s Largest Coaster Ride, an annual event where theme parks across the country synchronize coaster dispatches to set a new record. This year, Adventureland is proud to feature Underground, the world’s only indoor wooden roller coaster, in this thrilling nationwide celebration.
