Toto’s Steve Lukather clears up rumors about his involvement with new Van Halen project

It has been talked about for some time now, as Alex Van Halen discussed while doing the media tour for his memoir ‘Brothers’ that came out in 2024, the fact that they had uncovered un finished Van Halen songs. A handful of recorded tracks from his late brother Eddie Van Halen where found in the bands archives, and thanks to the help of AI, Alex plans to finish those tracks and bring new Van Halen Music to the world.

In an interview discussing the project, Alex brought up Toto’s Steve Lukather by stating, “Ed and Steve Lukather were very good friends and they often worked together. There is no one who can do this process with me as well as he can.” Fans and writers took this as an indication that Steve would be playing guitar on the new tracks and rumors ran wild. That is until Lukather put those rumors to bed by letting it be known that, “I will NOT EVER play a guitar note on a VH song ever!” Clearing up the rumors by saying, “Al asked me to help him go thru a ton of unfinished recordings of Al and Ed writing and recording that never saw the light of day. As of now that’s all I got.’
